Bas helps professionals connect what they know with a way of seeing they may have stopped using. His sessions bring substance, simplicity, humor and energy to serious organizational challenges.
BACKGROUND / SCIENCE, STRATEGY AND SOME UNEXPECTED TEACHERS
Bas’s career spans science, strategy consulting and an Executive MBA. He holds a degree in Biopharmaceutical Sciences from Leiden University and conducted research in gene therapy and comparative genetics in London. He completed his Executive MBA at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, with international study experiences at the University of Hong Kong and the University of Johannesburg.
For more than a decade, another group has shaped his thinking: children aged 9–12.
Through ConsultingKids, Bas and his team translate complex organizational challenges into a world children can understand and care about. Along the way, they introduce children to proven approaches from leading consultancy firms and management books, adapted to their age and experience. The team then brings the children’s unexpected thinking back into the professional world as relevant insights and possibilities for action.
Working with 20,000+ children and helping 300+ organizations revealed recurring patterns in how children question, imagine and approach problems. Bas brings those patterns to professionals as Childlike Intelligence.

LIFE BEYOND THE STAGE / FUN FACTS
Bas lives with his family in the Netherlands. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with friends and neighbors, making music and coaching his daughters’ soccer teams. He loves traveling, entering unusual national championships and stand-up comedy.
He wears jeans for 99% of his keynotes and workshops. The other 1% requires a very, very convincing argument.
